Damascus: Syria's official news agency, SANA, launched its new vision on Wednesday at the National Center for Visual Arts in Damascus, the country's capital.
According to Anadolu Agency, the launch was attended by Yusuf Ozhan, deputy director general and editor-in-chief of Anadolu, as well as ambassadors from multiple countries. A promotional video showcased SANA's new look, emphasizing significant developments in Syria over the past decade. Opening speeches were delivered by SANA Director General Ziad Mahameed and Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa.
Ozhan expressed his satisfaction at being present in Damascus for the event, noting Syria's experience of intense conflict over the past decade. He remarked on the reconstruction efforts visible across the country and highlighted Anadolu's interest in potential cooperation with SANA. Ozhan also mentioned the unveiling of SANA's new logo and presentations showcasing renovations at the news centers.
Mahameed announced that SANA has completed its restructuring with a new editorial line and contemporary media language. He stated that the agency's new face embraces a modern media approach and has established a directorate for digital media, with a presence on social media platforms and a newly launched website. He emphasized the agency's openness to local and international media cooperation, mentioning ongoing projects to sign protocols with many international and Arab agencies, including Anadolu.
Information Minister al-Mustafa discussed the significance of SANA's launch, positioning it as a professional news service provider. He noted that the restructuring process was inspired by professional organizations such as Anadolu, highlighting the value of collaboration with other agencies.
