Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday expressed his desire to strengthen the "strategic partnership" between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. "We look forward to developing our strategic partnership for the benefit of our nations," Zelenskyy stated on the US social media platform, X.
According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy conveyed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for extending his congratulations on Ukraine's Independence Day and for showing respect towards Ukraine and its citizens. Zelenskyy highlighted the mutual support for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty shared by Kyiv and Baku, acknowledging Ukraine's appreciation for "friendly Azerbaijan" and its humanitarian and other forms of support.
In a message to Zelenskyy, President Aliyev affirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to continue providing necessary humanitarian support and assistance to the Ukrainian people.
