Polish Prime Minister Condemns Actions in Gaza, Warns of Consequences for Perpetrators

Warsaw: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed grave concerns over the situation in Gaza, declaring that those responsible for the ongoing crisis will face repercussions. Tusk's remarks came during a press conference where he addressed the actions of Israel in the Gaza Strip.

According to Anadolu Agency, Tusk highlighted the lack of justification for the events unfolding in Gaza, despite his longstanding support for Israel's right to defend itself against terrorism. He emphasized his consistent stance on this issue, stating, "For years, I have consistently defended Israel's right to fight terrorism, and I will continue to do so. There is nothing to debate here. We all know very well that the starting point of this conflict was the crimes committed by Hamas against Israeli civilians."

Tusk acknowledged the historical pressures Israel faces from Iran, certain Arab states, and terrorist groups but maintained that the current situation in Gaza is unacceptable. He stressed that the actions are tarnishing Israel's international image and undermining its efforts.

Tusk urged for clarity in addressing the crisis, stating that there can be no justification for harming children or depriving civilians of essentials. He recognized Hamas's responsibility in the conflict but insisted that this does not legitimize Israel's actions in Gaza. The crisis has led to the deaths of over 65,000 Palestinians since the October 2023 Hamas attacks, leaving the territory devastated and on the brink of famine.
