Washington: US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, a key negotiator on the Gaza ceasefire deal, has definitively ruled out the deployment of American troops in the disarmament process of Gaza. Instead, the process will be spearheaded by an international stabilization force as part of the plan's second phase.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kushner, during an interview on 60 Minutes, outlined the objective of establishing an International Stabilization Force. This force is intended to facilitate the creation of a local Palestinian government and police force to maintain security and ensure that Gaza remains free of terror influence. When asked about the potential deployment of American soldiers if Hamas refuses to disarm, Kushner stated that such a scenario is not intended under the current plan.

Kushner emphasized President Trump's commitment to the disarmament process, highlighting that while Trump is eager to see the plan through, the responsibility for disarmament will lie with regional and international partners. US Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, also a principal negotiator and present during the interview, noted that the disarmament strategy includes a weapons buy-back program, which will be tied to amnesty and the rejection of violence. He described the possibility of US troop involvement as 'highly unlikely.'
