Luxembourg: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos in Luxembourg on Monday.
According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan's discussions with Kos took place on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting focused on cross-regional security and connectivity, organized as part of the EU Foreign Affairs Council. Trkiye, which has been an official candidate for EU membership since 1999, began its accession negotiations in 2005, although progress has stalled in recent years. Turkish officials are urging the EU to revitalize the talks, advocating for fair treatment and recognition of Trkiye's strategic importance.
In addition to his meeting with Kos, Fidan also engaged in discussions with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis during the same council meeting. The Turkish Foreign Ministry shared this information through a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal. However, further details regarding the content and outcomes of these talks have not yet been disclosed.
