Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday evening condemned a Russian strike on the Slovyansk Thermal Power Plant in northern Donetsk Oblast, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left several others injured. He emphasized the need for a stronger international response to such actions.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy expressed his condolences and described the attack as an act of terror. He urged the world to respond appropriately to what he labeled as Russian warfare. Earlier, Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, reported that two people were killed and nine others injured in air and drone strikes on the eastern Donetsk region.

Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine's continued collaboration with international partners to bolster its energy security. He noted specific agreements with Norway to support gas purchases and ongoing cooperation with Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands on equipment for electricity generation.

Zelenskyy also mentioned that Ukraine's energy minister recently met with G7 representatives to discuss further support for Ukraine's energy system.
