Pokrovsk: Ukrainian and Russian forces reported new advances and heavy fighting near the eastern Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, with Kyiv claiming the liberation of 188 square kilometers in the Dobropil salient while Moscow said its troops 'entered and consolidated' positions in the city's Prigorodny district.
According to Anadolu Agency, Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced on Facebook that 248.7 square kilometers were also cleared of enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups during the operation. Syrskyi emphasized the strengthening of troops with additional units, weapons, and equipment, including unmanned systems, to increase pressure on the Dobropil salient and continue liberating and clearing territories.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces reported 83 combat clashes along the front line, with over a third occurring in the Pokrovsk sector. Russian forces attempted 32 assaults in and around Shakhove, Fedorivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, and neighboring villages, with Ukrainian defenders repelling 28 of them. Ukrainian defenses also repelled several Russian attacks in the Kostyantynivka, Lyman, and Slovyansk directions.
Elsewhere, Russian aircraft struck multiple locations, including Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, and several settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Russian artillery targeted border settlements in Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, and six airstrikes were conducted in the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions. The General Staff reported the enemy's use of 13 guided bombs and 57 artillery attacks, including one from a multiple launch rocket system.
Russia claimed earlier in the day that it advanced in Pokrovsk, noting its forces 'entered and consolidated' positions in the city's Prigorodny neighborhood and continued fighting near the railway station and industrial zone. Moscow has repeatedly asserted territorial gains in its offensive toward Pokrovsk, a critical logistics hub for Ukraine's military operations in the Donetsk region, while Ukrainian authorities maintain that the situation remains under control.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated it launched overnight airstrikes targeting Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, and repair sites. Ukrainian authorities reported overnight airstrikes across regions, including the northeastern Sumy region, where one person was killed in Trostianets, and the southern Mykolaiv region, where energy infrastructure was damaged, causing power cuts in 12 settlements.
Both nations have increased strikes on each other's energy infrastructure as winter approaches. Ukraine's General Staff claimed an overnight drone strike on the Saratov Oil Refinery, while the Russian Defense Ministry reported intercepting 64 Ukrainian drones, with 29 downed over the Saratov region.
