Moscow: Russia and Ukraine have exchanged allegations of significant overnight assaults, with Russia claiming that its air defenses successfully destroyed 216 Ukrainian drones across various regions and the Black Sea. Ukrainian officials, on the other hand, reported multiple Russian strikes resulting in civilian casualties and injuries in Kyiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Kirovohrad.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Russian Defense Ministry detailed the interception of drones over several regions, including 66 in Krasnodar, 45 in Saratov, 19 in Crimea, and others in Volgograd, Rostov, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, and Orenburg. Additionally, 59 drones were reportedly destroyed over the Black Sea. Meanwhile, Ukrainian regional authorities reported widespread attacks involving missiles, drones, artillery, and aviation.
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson regional administration, stated that 36 settlements came under fire, resulting in one death and three injuries. Residential areas, critical infrastructure, and transport facilities were damaged, including 18 private houses, a shop, an administrative building, and a trolleybus.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, regional governor Ivan Fedorov reported that Russian forces executed 731 strikes on 20 settlements, leading to four fatalities. The attacks included five airstrikes, seven MLRS barrages, and over 400 drone attacks, predominantly FPV-type, affecting towns such as Bilenke, Gulyaipole, and Mala Tokmachka. Fedorov also noted that two civilians were killed in a separate FPV drone strike in Preobrazhenka, marking the second deadly attack in the district that evening.
In Kyiv, the State Emergency Service reported one death and at least 24 injuries following missile strikes that caused fires and structural damage across several districts. More than 40 people were rescued from high-rise buildings as fires erupted in Podilskyi, Dnipro, Solomyanskyi, and Obolonskyi districts. Residential blocks, a school area, and a sports facility also sustained damage.
In the Kirovohrad region, regional head Andriy Raykovych indicated that a nighttime strike damaged a power line, leaving 16 settlements in the Novoukrainka district without electricity. Repair teams are working to restore the power supply.
Both nations regularly report drone interceptions and cross-border attacks amid ongoing conflict along multiple fronts. Ukrainian authorities claim that Russian forces have intensified aerial strikes on cities and infrastructure recently, while Moscow accuses Kyiv of escalating drone attacks deeper inside Russian territory.
