Istanbul: Trkiye hosted 47.25 million foreign tourists in the first 10 months of 2025, according to official figures released on Friday. The number of foreign arrivals from January to October showed a slight decrease of 0.1% compared to the same period last year, as reported by data from the Culture and Tourism Ministry.
According to Anadolu Agency, Istanbul, Trkiye's largest city by population and a prominent tourist destination, was the top choice for foreign visitors. The city welcomed 33.9% of all foreign tourists, totaling 16.01 million in the 10-month period. Following Istanbul, the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya and the northwestern city of Edirne, which borders both Bulgaria and Greece, were also popular destinations.
Regarding the nationalities of foreign tourists, Russia held the largest share at 13.5% during the same period, followed by Germany and the UK. In the month of October alone, 5.68 million foreigners visited Trkiye, marking a 4.3% increase on a yearly basis.
