Tubas: The Israeli army detained 32 Palestinians and injured 10 others during a wide-scale military operation in the northern West Bank. The operation led to the evacuation of dozens of families from their homes, officials and medics reported.
According to Anadolu Agency, the raid targeted several areas, including the city of Tubas, the towns of Tammoun and Aqaba, and the al-Far'a refugee camp. The Palestinian Prisoner Society reported that Israeli forces detained 32 individuals after they were subjected to field interrogation in homes that had been evacuated prior to the raid.
The Palestinian Red Crescent stated that its teams treated 10 people who were injured by severe beatings. Four of the injured were transferred to a hospital, while six received treatment at the scene. Medical crews also reported obstruction from the army as they tried to evacuate 30 medical cases, including 20 patients requiring kidney dialysis, and transported a deceased person to a hospital.
Field operations continued with Israeli forces spreading around Tubas and the nearby town of Tammoun, concentrating on these areas. Tubas Governor Ahmad al-Asaad said that Israeli troops caused significant destruction inside homes, smashing furniture and damaging vehicles, while also forcing dozens of families to leave their homes at gunpoint. Emergency crews have been working to open routes for ambulances and provide temporary shelter for displaced families.
The Israeli army issued a statement on Wednesday, noting that the operation began overnight in collaboration with Shin Bet and police as part of counterterrorism efforts. The army has increased its attacks in the West Bank since the onset of the war in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. Since then, over 1,082 Palestinians have been killed, nearly 11,000 injured, and more than 20,000 arrested in the occupied territory.
In a ruling last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories illegal, calling for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
