Ankara: Israel must immediately halt its attacks violating the Gaza ceasefire and fulfill its obligations, Trkiye's National Security Council stated on Wednesday. A council statement emphasized Ankara's readiness to assume responsibilities in mechanisms that will ensure stability in Gaza and contribute to reconstruction efforts, as reported by Trkiye's Communications Directorate on Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

According to Anadolu Agency, the statement followed a council meeting chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. Trkiye pledged continued support for the peace, welfare, and security of all segments of the Syrian population. The council also addressed the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine war, reaffirming Trkiye's efforts with global partners to establish just and lasting peace. It highlighted the importance of diplomatic solutions amid risks of escalation.

The council was briefed on Trkiye's fight against terrorism, including efforts against the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG and FETO groups, and discussed the latest global developments. In pursuit of a "Terror-Free Trkiye," the council discussed multidimensional efforts aimed at permanently ending terrorism and strengthening national unity and solidarity.

Additionally, the council examined developments in Sudan, reaffirming Ankara's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. It called on international actors, especially regional countries, to cooperate to stop massacres and end the conflict.

In light of recent positive developments in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, bilateral and regional cooperation opportunities were discussed. The council also reiterated Trkiye's commitment to establishing peace, stability, and development in the South Caucasus.
