Istanbul: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Trkiye's Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK) and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) for halal cooperation was signed at the World Halal Summit on Wednesday. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in the halal sector between the two countries.

According to Anadolu Agency, the World Halal Summit and Halal Expo began simultaneously on Wednesday in Istanbul, uniting industry participants under the main theme of "Strengthening Halal Industry via Innovation and Excellence." This year marks the 11th edition of the World Halal Summit and Expo, which is being held from November 26 to 29 under the auspices of the Turkish presidency, with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and several organizations, including the Turkish Trade Ministry and the Halal Accreditation Agency. Anadolu serves as the event's global communications partner.

The newly signed agreement between Trkiye and Saudi Arabia covers various areas, including sharing experiences related to halal products, encouraging mutual visits and meetings, and organizing programs such as training courses, seminars, and workshops. Furthermore, the MoU emphasizes the importance of sharing information on participation in international conferences, forums, and events to bolster the halal industry.
