Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pope Leo are set to hold a news conference Thursday at Cihannuma Hall in Trkiye's Presidential National Library in Ankara, which is recognized as the world's third-largest library.

According to Anadolu Agency, this marks Pope Leo's first foreign visit since he became the head of the Catholic Church. During his visit from November 27 to 30, he will be traveling to Ankara, Istanbul, and Iznik. His itinerary in Ankara includes paying respects at Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, followed by an official welcome at the Presidential Complex.

Erdogan and Pope Leo are expected to engage in a private meeting to discuss the relations between Trkiye and the Vatican, as well as address pressing regional and global issues, with a focus on developments in Palestine.

Pope Leo's schedule also includes meeting Christian clerics on Friday at Saint Esprit Cathedral, visiting the French Poorhouse Nursing Home, and traveling by helicopter to Iznik to conduct a service. On Saturday, he is set to visit Sultanahmet Mosque and the Mor Ephrem Syriac Orthodox Church, meet with Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos, and lead a service at Volkswagen Arena.

The Pope's visit will conclude with a service at the Armenian Apostolic Cathedral and a return visit to the Fener Greek Patriarchate to commemorate the Patriarchate's founding anniversary.
