Doha: The 23rd edition of the Doha Forum commenced in the Qatari capital under the theme 'Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress.' Speaking at the opening session, Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani highlighted the world's challenges concerning justice, the rule of law, and accountability.

According to Anadolu Agency, Sheikh Mohammed expressed concerns that justice has become elusive in the realm of international law, with weakened legal mechanisms intensifying global crises. He noted that current conflicts and humanitarian issues stem from a prevailing 'culture of impunity,' which has plunged the world into recurrent crises.

The prime minister emphasized that Qatar considers mediation not merely a diplomatic choice but an integral state policy. He urged for the restoration of trust in the international legal system, advocating for a more equitable global order. Furthermore, he pointed out that regional challenges are intertwined with the global decline in adherence to international norms.

The two-day forum hosts global leaders, including Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum Borge Brende, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates. Anadolu is serving as the event's global communications partner.

The 2025 program, crafted in collaboration with global think tanks and research institutions, includes sessions such as "The Gaza Reckoning: Reassessing Global Responsibilities and Pathways to Peace," "Gulf-EU Relations in the Age of Strategic Isolation," "AI as a Double-Edged Sword: Strategies for Responsible Use in the Military Domain," and "US-China Relations: Navigating the Risks and Opportunities of a Changing Global Order."

The previous edition of the forum, held in December 2024 under the theme 'The Innovation Imperative,' attracted over 5,000 attendees, including more than 350 speakers.
