Beijing: China and Brazil are collaborating to establish a laboratory focused on astronomical observation and deep space exploration, as announced by the state-owned China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.

According to Anadolu Agency, the collaboration involves China's Network Communications Research Institute partnering with Brazil's Federal University of Campina Grande and Federal University of Paraiba. The initiative aims to create the China-Brazil laboratory for radio astronomy technology, which will serve as a foundation and platform for future international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation.

The laboratory's objectives include exploring advanced technologies, promoting international scientific collaboration, and planning extensive global research projects. These efforts are intended to drive innovation in science and technology, supporting global development and modernization.

Additionally, China's Spacesail commercial satellite constellation will deliver satellite communication services to Brazil. It will also provide broadband internet access to remote and underserved regions, as reported by state news agency Xinhua. Spacesail, a low-Earth-orbit constellation, features full frequency bands and a multi-layer, multi-orbit design. The commercial network's construction began last August, with plans to extend its services to Brazil by 2026.
