Paris: The French presidency, Elysee, denied claims on Friday of a possible peace agreement involving the concession of Ukrainian territory, reiterating the need for security guarantees for Kyiv, according to the Ouest-France newspaper.

According to Anadolu Agency, the presidency emphasized the necessity for complete clarity regarding security guarantees before even contemplating any adjustments on contentious territorial issues. "We need full clarity on security guarantees before any adjustment on contentious territorial issues can even be considered," it stated during a news briefing. The Elysee reiterated that there will be "no transfer of Ukrainian territory" nor the establishment of a demilitarized zone.

Furthermore, the French presidency stressed that the Russians must understand that resuming the war after a cease-fire agreement would mean facing Europeans, Americans, and Ukrainians. "The first security guarantee is equipping a strong, robust Ukrainian army to deter Russia," the presidency reportedly highlighted.

The Elysee also addressed Europe's diplomatic strategy, which aims to establish a solid common foundation for negotiations. This strategy is intended to unite the Americans, Ukrainians, and Europeans in presenting the Russians with a strong, lasting peace proposal that respects international law and Ukraine's sovereign interests.

In a related development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that Ukraine is pursuing parallel negotiation tracks with partners in Europe and the US. These negotiations cover security guarantees, economic recovery, and diplomatic coordination to bring the war to an end.

Additionally, Germany is anticipated to hold bilateral discussions with Zelenskyy on Monday, focusing on economic support for Ukraine and the latest diplomatic initiatives.
