Quneitra: The Israeli army shelled the Quneitra countryside in southwestern Syria on Wednesday, marking the latest breach of the country's sovereignty. Israeli forces launched several artillery shells from their positions in Tel al-Ahmar al-Gharbi, an area under Israeli occupation, towards Tel al-Ahmar al-Sharqi, near the village of Kudna in the southern Quneitra countryside, as reported by Syria's state-run Alikhbaria TV. Details regarding any injuries or damage remain undisclosed.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli violations in southern Syria have become almost a daily occurrence in recent weeks. These actions have included arrests and the establishment of temporary checkpoints, which have stirred public discontent. Syrians express that ongoing Israeli violations are hindering efforts to restore stability and complicate government attempts to attract investment aimed at improving economic conditions.

Despite the Syrian government posing no threat, Israeli forces have repeatedly entered Syrian territory and conducted airstrikes, leading to civilian casualties and the destruction of Syrian military infrastructure, vehicles, weapons, and ammunition. Syrian government data indicates that since December 2024, Israel has executed over 1,000 airstrikes on Syria and more than 400 cross-border raids into the southern provinces.

Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarized buffer zone, violating a 1974 agreement with Syria.
