Beirut: Israeli aircraft launched airstrikes on several locations in southern and eastern Lebanon, marking a breach of last year's ceasefire agreement, Lebanese state media reported. The airstrikes targeted a riverbed near the southern town of Zawtar in the Nabatieh district and an area between Deir Siryan and al-Qusayr in Marjayoun.

According to Anadolu Agency, additional strikes occurred in eastern Lebanon, specifically in the Zeghrine area in the Hermel highlands and the outskirts of Budai, west of Baalbek. As of now, there is no information available regarding casualties resulting from these airstrikes.

The Israeli army stated that the airstrikes aimed at Hezbollah military buildings and launch platforms. So far, there has been no comment from either Hezbollah or the Lebanese government regarding these strikes.

A ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Beirut was established last year following over a year of hostilities linked to the Gaza Strip conflict, which resulted in more than 4,000 fatalities and 17,000 injuries. The Israeli army was scheduled to withdraw from southern Lebanon in January, but only a partial withdrawal occurred, with a military presence remaining at five border outposts.
