Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index showed an upward trend as it opened the week higher, registering a 0.37% increase or a gain of 41.56 points to reach 11,383.46.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index had previously edged up slightly by 0.06% on Friday, closing at 11,341.90 points. The day's transactions recorded a volume of 115.1 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $2.7 billion.

As of 9.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), the exchange rates stood at 42.8170 for the US dollar/Turkish lira, 50.1985 for the euro/lira, and 57.3945 for the British pound/lira. Meanwhile, the price of an ounce of gold was noted at $4,413.95, and Brent crude oil was trading at $60.85 per barrel.
