Damascus: Syria announced that discussions with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have not yielded any tangible results, despite the SDF's claims of ongoing dialogue with Damascus. The Syrian Foreign Ministry communicated through the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the talks have not led to any concrete outcomes, suggesting that the SDF's statements are more about media messaging and alleviating political pressure than actual progress.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Ministry highlighted that statements about Syria's unity conflict with the situation in the northeast, where various institutions operate independently of the state, contributing to division rather than resolution. The Ministry also expressed concerns that current proposals for decentralization extend beyond administrative aspects and pose a threat to state unity by promoting political and security decentralization.

The Ministry further criticized the SDF's approach to managing the northeastern region, pointing out issues such as political exclusion, centralized decision-making, and a lack of genuine representation of the area's social diversity. The SDF is predominantly led by the YPG, which is linked to the PKK, a group classified as terrorist.

On March 10, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement for the SDF's integration into state institutions, affirming the country's territorial integrity and rejecting any attempts at division. However, Syrian authorities claim that since the agreement, the SDF has not made efforts to comply with its terms. Officials in neighboring Trkiye have also emphasized the importance of the SDF adhering to the agreement, noting that any security issues in Syria have direct implications for Trkiye.
