Ankara: Trkiye's Communications Director Burhanettin Duran on Friday strongly condemned a terrorist attack targeting a mosque in the central Syrian city of Homs, describing it as a blatant provocation aimed at undermining regional stability and peace in the war-torn country.

According to Anadolu Agency, Duran expressed his deep sorrow over the 'treacherous terrorist attack' against the place of worship in Homs province via a statement on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal. He emphasized the condemnation of this act in the strongest possible terms.

Duran highlighted that attacks targeting places of worship and innocent civilians are deliberate attempts to disrupt stability in the region and damage the fragile peace environment in Syria. He reaffirmed Trkiye's ongoing commitment to combatting terrorism, stating that the nation remains resolute in its fight against actions that endanger human life, regardless of the perpetrators or their motives.

He further noted that such acts, intended to threaten the region's peace and shared future, would not succeed in their objectives but rather bolster regional solidarity and the pursuit of justice. Duran also extended condolences to the victims of the attack.
