Ashgabat: Turkmenistan announced the successful rescue of 14 crew members from an Iranian cargo ship that encountered distress in the Caspian Sea. The incident involved the Rona vessel, which issued an SOS signal that was received by the Turkmen Coast Guard.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported that the government agencies responsible for emergency response and prevention acted promptly, taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of those aboard. The rescue operation was conducted in compliance with international marine regulations.

The preliminary information provided by the Turkmen authorities indicated that the rescued individuals are citizens of Iran and India. However, further details regarding their identities and conditions have not been disclosed. The Foreign Ministry assured that the Turkmen side is currently carrying out all relevant procedures in line with international rules.
