Tehran: Tehran is "ready" for "a fair and equitable nuclear deal," and has "never" pursued nuclear weapons, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed during his talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
According to Anadolu Agency, Araghchi emphasized in conversations on Friday that Iran is prepared to engage in a nuclear deal that aligns with the legitimate interests of its citizens. This deal includes ensuring the absence of nuclear weapons and securing the lifting of sanctions. Araghchi communicated these points on Saturday through US social media company X.
Araghchi expressed satisfaction with the discussions on Trkiye-Iran bilateral ties and regional issues of mutual concern. He acknowledged Ankara's role, along with other nations, in offering support to promote peace and stability in the region. Tehran is "grateful for such efforts and welcomes them," Araghchi noted, expressing readiness to collaborate with regional countries to maintain stability and peace.
The discussions between Araghchi and Turkish officials occurred during the Iranian foreign minister's visit to Trkiye on Friday.
