Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the situation in Iran during a phone call with his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi. The conversation took place on Sunday and focused on the developments in Iran following recent diplomatic engagements.

According to Anadolu Agency, the two diplomats exchanged views in the wake of talks held in Muscat between Tehran and Washington. These discussions occurred after weeks of heightened tensions due to a US military buildup in the Persian Gulf near Iran. Lavrov and Albusaidi emphasized the importance of continuing the negotiation process to achieve mutually agreeable solutions.

The Foreign Ministry statement highlighted that Sergey Lavrov commended the leadership of the Sultanate of Oman for its efforts in mediating the discussions. The indirect talks between Iran and the US, which were facilitated by Oman, concluded on Friday. However, there remains a possibility of further dialogue in the coming days to address the future of Iran's nuclear program.
