Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on Saturday in Istanbul with Bakir Izetbegovic, a former member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council. The meeting took place behind closed doors at the Dolmabahce Working Office.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Presidency released a statement confirming the meeting. The Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council, under the country's Constitution, consists of three members who collectively serve as the nation's presidency. The council includes one Bosniak, one Serb, and one Croat, with the chairmanship rotating every eight months to ensure equal representation.
Bakir Izetbegovic, who participated in the meeting, served as the 6th Bosniak member of the council from 2010 to 2018. During his tenure, he was involved in various initiatives and diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina's political landscape and international relations.
