North Korea’s Kim Jong Un Oversees Launch of Sea-to-Surface ‘Strategic’ Cruise Missile

Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has supervised the test launch of a sea-to-surface 'strategic' cruise missile, as reported by state media. The missile test took place from a warship named Destroyer Choe Hyon, a day prior to the announcement by the KCNA news agency.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kim Jong Un has indicated that the North Korean Navy's development of nuclear weapons is progressing as planned. The use of the term "strategic" in describing these weapons suggests potential nuclear capabilities, a point highlighted by Seoul-based Yonhap News.

Kim Jong Un expressed satisfaction with the new destroyer's readiness for operational deployment. He emphasized the necessity for a robust team of researchers and a strong shipbuilding industry to support the nation's military advancements.
