Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held discussions regarding a recent drone strike on Azerbaijan's autonomous Nakhchivan exclave, which resulted in injuries to four individuals. In a phone conversation, Erdogan strongly condemned the attack and expressed his well wishes to Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people, as reported by Trkiye's Communications Directorate.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that drones launched from Iran were responsible for the attack, with one drone hitting the terminal building at Nakhchivan International Airport and another landing near a school in the village of Shakarabad. The ministry issued a statement condemning the attacks and highlighting the damage caused to the airport and injuries sustained by two civilians.
The Azerbaijani Health Ministry further reported that a total of four people were injured in the incident and assured that their conditions are stable.
