Manama: Bahrain's National Communication Centre announced that a fire broke out following an Iranian attack targeting a facility in the Maameer area, located south of the capital, Manama. Bahraini media reported this incident on Monday, highlighting the ongoing regional tensions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Bahrain News Agency cited the National Communication Centre's report stating that the fire resulted in material damage, though no injuries or fatalities were reported. Authorities are actively engaged in firefighting operations to manage the situation.

Maameer is a village in Bahrain known for its industrial significance, hosting the Bahrain Petroleum Company refinery and numerous factories and production units. This incident underscores the heightened tensions in the region, which have been escalating since February 28. On that date, the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran, resulting in over 1,200 casualties, including Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries that house US military assets, further intensifying the situation in the region.
