Beirut: Four Iranian diplomats were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Lebanese capital Beirut, Iran's ambassador to the UN said on Tuesday. Amir Saeid Iravani announced the fatalities in an urgent letter to the UN secretary-general and the presidents of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.

According to Anadolu Agency, the diplomats were killed in the attack that targeted the Ramada Hotel Beirut on March 8. The letter from the Iranian envoy characterized the incident as 'a deliberate terrorist attack' by Israel, resulting in the deaths of the four diplomats.

On Sunday, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported that four people were killed and 10 others were injured in an Israeli strike that targeted an apartment at the Ramada Hotel in central Beirut.
