Jakarta: Search and rescue operations at a large waste mound collapse site at Indonesia’s largest landfill ended Tuesday after the recovery of the bodies of all seven victims.

According to Anadolu Agency, the operations concluded with the announcement from Desiana Kartika Bahari, head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, who confirmed, ‘With all victims found and no additional missing persons reported, the search and rescue operation has officially been closed.’

The final missing victim, identified as Riki Supriadi, 40, was found late Monday. The landslide, which occurred on Sunday at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site, significantly impacted the area just outside the national capital of Jakarta.

Among the 13 individuals affected by the landslide, six survived. The landfill, located in Bekasi, adjacent to Jakarta, has been a major depository for municipal waste from the capital for the past three decades. The site spans an area roughly equivalent to 200 football fields.
