Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Higher Midweek


Istanbul: Trkiye’s benchmark stock index opened higher on Wednesday, marking a positive start to the midweek trading session. The BIST 100 index rose by 12.95 points, or 0.1%, reaching 13,188.70 at the opening bell.



According to Anadolu Agency, this follows a significant surge on Tuesday when the index climbed by 3.73% to close at 13,175.74 points. The daily transaction volume on that day was reported to be 178 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $4.04 billion.



As of 0950 GMT+3, the exchange rates were recorded at 44.0740 liras to the U.S. dollar, 51.3020 to the euro, and 59.2940 to the British pound. In the commodities market, gold was trading at $5,197.50 per ounce, while Brent crude oil was priced at $86.35 per barrel.
