Doha: Qatar's Defense Ministry announced on Monday that the armed forces successfully intercepted a missile attack targeting the country's territory. This development comes as tensions continue to escalate between Iran, the US, and Israel.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry did not provide specific details regarding any potential injuries or damage resulting from the interception. Qatari authorities have reported intercepting numerous missiles and drones originating from Iran since a series of US-Israeli attacks on Tehran began late last month.

The regional conflict has intensified since the US and Israel initiated a joint offensive against Iran on February 28, resulting in approximately 1,300 casualties, including Iran's then-Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and other countries in the region, including Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations, claiming these attacks are aimed at 'US military assets.'

These retaliatory strikes have led to casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure across the region, affecting airports, ports, and buildings.
