Hebron: The Israeli army said Tuesday that one of its soldiers was lightly injured after being struck by stones thrown by illegal Israeli settlers in the southern West Bank.

According to Anadolu Agency, the army stated that the incident occurred when illegal Israeli settlers hurled stones at soldiers during an operation near the Kiryat Arba settlement, south of the West Bank. The soldier suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment at the scene.

The army explained that the soldiers were engaged in an operation to dismantle illegal settlement structures near an intersection in the Judea Brigade area, following an order from the Central Command. The situation escalated during the evacuation, leading to what the army described as a 'violent attack,' although no further injuries were reported.

Security forces apprehended several illegal settlers on site for transfer to the police for further legal action. The Israeli army emphasized its serious stance against any violence targeting its personnel, condemning such acts.

Approximately 3 million Palestinians reside in the West Bank, alongside over 700,000 illegal Israeli settlers distributed across numerous settlements and outposts, as estimated by both Palestinian and Israeli sources.
