Ankara: Iran has announced that its Natanz nuclear enrichment complex was once again targeted in an attack attributed to the United States and Israel. The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday morning, as conveyed by a statement from the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran claimed that the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan facility in Natanz was hit as part of what it labeled as 'criminal attacks' orchestrated by the US and Israel. The organization criticized the attack as a breach of international laws and commitments, highlighting violations of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and other nuclear safety regulations.

Subsequent to the attack, Iran's Nuclear Safety System Center conducted technical and specialized assessments to determine any potential radioactive contamination at the facility. The findings revealed no radioactive material leak, ensuring there is no threat to the nearby residents, as stated in the report.

The Natanz nuclear facility had previously been the target of a US-Israeli attack on March 2. Last year, it was one of three sites, along with Fordow and Isfahan, that were struck by US forces during the ongoing conflict with Iran. The series of US-Israeli strikes on Iranian facilities began on February 28, leading to Tehran's retaliation through drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
