Tehran: Iran has issued a stern warning to target all US and Israeli infrastructure in the region if its own facilities are attacked, following a recent ultimatum from US President Donald Trump. This development marks a significant escalation in tensions between the involved nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the threat came from a spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which oversees Iranian military operations. The spokesperson stated that any attack on Iran's fuel and energy infrastructure by what they termed as "the enemy" would result in retaliatory strikes on energy, information technology, and desalination infrastructure belonging to the United States and Israel.

The warning follows President Trump's ultimatum issued on Saturday, demanding that Tehran open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours or face US military strikes on its power plants. These strikes are set to commence with Iran's largest power plant if the ultimatum is not met.

In response to the escalating situation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that Iran would exercise "zero restraint" if its infrastructure were to be attacked, emphasizing the gravity of the potential conflict.

The Strait of Hormuz has been in a state of disruption since early March, leading to rising oil prices globally. The ongoing US-Israeli strikes on Iran, which began on February 28, have resulted in significant casualties, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, according to reports.
