Ankara: Trkiye’s foreign minister engaged in discussions with his Egyptian, Norwegian, Pakistani, and Saudi counterparts regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran. Hakan Fidan reached out to Egypt’s Badr Abdelatty, Norway’s Espen Barth Eide, and Saudi Arabia’s Faisal bin Farhan to deliberate on initiatives to halt the warfare.

According to Anadolu Agency, during a separate conversation with Pakistan’s Ishaq Dar, the foreign ministers exchanged perspectives on the current status of the conflict. The dialogues underscore a concerted effort to address the escalating situation in the region.

The conflict has intensified since the United States and Israel began a joint offensive against Iran on February 28, resulting in over 1,300 casualties, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran has launched drone and missile attacks on Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that house US military forces. These actions have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in global markets and aviation.
