Manama: A civilian contractor working with the United Arab Emirates armed forces was killed and five Emirati military personnel were wounded in an Iranian missile attack in Bahrain, the UAE Defense Ministry said Tuesday. A military statement revealed that the contractor, a Moroccan national, lost his life during "a routine mission" in Bahrain following a missile strike by Iran targeting the kingdom.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UAE Defense Ministry mentioned that five members of its forces were injured in the attack. However, no additional information was provided regarding the specific location or timing of the incident.

This attack is part of an ongoing series of hostilities in the region. Since February 28, the US and Israel have conducted airstrikes on Iran, resulting in the death of over 1,340 individuals, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military assets. These retaliatory strikes have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
