Washington: US President Donald Trump announced a temporary five-day postponement of military strikes targeting Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, following what he described as "very good and productive" discussions with Tehran. The talks, which have been ongoing for the past two days, aim at resolving hostilities in the Middle East. Trump expressed optimism about the discussions and stated that the Department of Defense has been instructed to delay any military action against Iranian energy facilities.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US-Israeli offensive targeted energy infrastructure in Iran's Isfahan province and the city of Khorramshahr on Monday. In Isfahan, a natural gas administration building and a gas pressure reduction station sustained damage. Additionally, in Khorramshahr, a missile hit a natural gas pipeline associated with a power plant, although no casualties were reported, and power supply remained uninterrupted in the area.

In another development, the death toll from a Colombian military plane crash has risen to 66. The Hercules C-130 aircraft, carrying 125 people, crashed shortly after takeoff from Puerto Leguizamo, Putumayo. According to local media, the incident involved 114 army personnel and 11 crew members. President Gustavo Petro stated that the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and authorities have activated protocols to assist victims and their families.
