Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates announced that its air defense systems successfully intercepted five ballistic missiles and 17 drones launched from Iran, amidst escalating regional tensions. The Defense Ministry did not provide information regarding any potential injuries or damages resulting from this latest incident.

According to Anadolu Agency, the UAE's air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed a total of 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,806 drones originating from Iran since February 28. This increase in defensive actions comes in the wake of heightened regional escalation following a joint offensive by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, which has led to over 1,340 reported casualties.

In response, Tehran has targeted Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets with drone and missile strikes. These retaliatory measures have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
