Muscat: Oman’s Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that the recent attacks on the country have not been claimed by any group. Authorities are actively investigating the origins and intentions behind these incidents.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry released a statement describing the attacks as ‘treacherous and cowardly.’ The statement reaffirmed Oman’s condemnation of ongoing conflict and violence in the region. Oman emphasized its commitment to a policy of ‘active neutrality,’ advocating for peace and stability across all nations in the area.

The ministry called for an end to current hostilities and urged a return to diplomatic dialogue to address the underlying issues causing regional tension. It stressed the importance of maintaining regional stability and the welfare of its citizens.

The announcement follows an incident on Saturday where two drones targeted the Port of Salalah, resulting in injuries to one expatriate worker and causing minor damage to a crane at the facility. This was reported by the Oman News Agency.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters issued a statement claiming they targeted a US vessel located near Salalah Port, while affirming their respect for Oman’s national sovereignty.

The region has seen heightened tensions since February 28, when Israel and the US launched strikes against Iran, resulting in over 1,340 casualties, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran has executed drone and missile attacks on Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military forces, impacting infrastructure and global markets.
