Kuwait city: Kuwait announced on Sunday that an Iranian drone attack resulted in significant damage to its electricity and water desalination plants, leading to the shutdown of two power generation units. The incident occurred late Saturday and has prompted immediate action from the Kuwaiti Electricity Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry confirmed that the attack did not result in any injuries. In response to the damage, emergency and technical teams were swiftly deployed to manage the situation, aiming to contain the damage and ensure the continuity of essential services.

The wider region has remained on high alert following a US and Israel air offensive launched on February 28, which has resulted in the deaths of over 1,340 individuals, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes against Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military assets. These retaliatory actions have caused casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
