Manama: Bahrain announced on Sunday that fires resulting from an Iranian drone attack at a petrochemical company have been completely extinguished. The fires had been triggered by a drone strike targeting the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, leading to blazes across several operational units.

According to Anadolu Agency, the state news agency BNA reported that the situation has been brought under control without any casualties. Authorities are actively assessing the damage to determine the full extent of the impact. Emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to the location and have been collaborating with Civil Defense and other government bodies to manage the incident and secure the site.

The Interior Ministry had previously indicated that civil defense teams were working to contain the blaze, though no further details were provided at that time. Social media footage depicted significant explosions and fires at the facility.

This incident occurs amidst ongoing regional tensions following a joint offensive by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28, which resulted in over 1,340 fatalities, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran has since retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. These actions have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
