Tel aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Wednesday that any enriched uranium remaining in Iran must leave the country, either through an agreement or renewed military action. "The enriched material that still remains will leave Iran. It will leave either by agreement or through a renewal of the fighting," Netanyahu remarked in a televised address, as reported by Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

According to Anadolu Agency, the premier emphasized that the current ceasefire with Iran is merely a temporary pause rather than the end of the conflict. He reiterated that Israel is prepared to resume military operations whenever necessary to achieve its objectives. Netanyahu asserted that Iran is entering negotiations from a weakened stance, claiming that Israel has severely impacted Iran's military and nuclear capabilities.

Addressing the situation in Lebanon, Netanyahu specified that any ceasefire agreement with Iran would exclude Hezbollah. This stance contrasts with recent announcements from Pakistani mediators, who indicated that the truce would encompass Lebanon. Despite ongoing Israeli strikes, Hezbollah has adhered to the ceasefire.

The US and Iran had announced a two-week truce on Tuesday, aimed at facilitating a final agreement to conclude a war initiated by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran on February 28, which has resulted in numerous casualties.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military conducted a series of lethal strikes across Lebanon, resulting in at least 254 fatalities and wounding 1,165 others, as reported by the Lebanese Civil Defense. Despite the ceasefire that took effect in November 2024, Israel has continued its airstrikes and ground offensive in southern Lebanon following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2.
