Manama: Bahrain said Thursday it intercepted and destroyed seven drones from Iran, marking the second consecutive day of strikes despite an ongoing ceasefire between Washington and Tehran. Bahrain’s Defense Force reported the interception as part of ongoing tensions since the start of Iranian attacks on February 28.

According to Anadolu Agency, Bahrain’s Defense Force stated it had intercepted 194 missiles and 515 drones since the onset of hostilities. However, the statement did not provide details regarding any injuries or damage resulting from these recent attacks.

The ceasefire between Iran and the United States was announced on Tuesday, with the aim of facilitating a final agreement to end the conflict that began on February 28. The war, initiated by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran, has resulted in over 3,000 deaths, as reported by Iran’s Forensic Authority.

The announcement of the truce came shortly before the deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and agree to terms. Trump had previously extended the deadline multiple times, warning of severe consequences should Iran fail to comply.
