Gaza city: Five Palestinians, including three children, lost their lives in a devastating Israeli drone strike on a civilian gathering in Beit Lahia, situated in the northern Gaza Strip. The strike, which occurred on Wednesday evening, also left several others wounded, as confirmed by a medical source.
According to Anadolu Agency, the source from Al-Shifa Hospital reported the arrival of the five victims' bodies, including the children, at the facility. The incident also resulted in multiple injuries, with at least one individual in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the Israeli strike targeted a group of Palestinians who had assembled near the Al-Qassam Mosque in the area. This attack led to numerous casualties, prompting ambulances to swiftly transport the victims and injured to Al-Shifa Hospital, as reported by an Anadolu correspondent.
The incident is part of a pattern of ongoing violations by Israel of a ceasefire agreement established last October. Gaza's Health Ministry has reported that since the ceasefire, 786 Palestinians have been killed and 2,217 injured. The ceasefire was originally intended to halt a two-year Israeli offensive on Gaza, which resulted in over 72,000 deaths and 172,000 injuries, along with the destruction of 90% of the region's civilian infrastructure. The United Nations estimates that reconstruction efforts will require approximately $70 billion.
