Zelenskyy Imposes Sanctions on Five Individuals Over National Security Concerns

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday imposed sanctions on five individuals, whose actions he said 'threaten the national interests, security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.'

According to Anadolu Agency, the presidential press service announced that the sanctions target Ukrainian lawyer Andriy Bohdan, a former head of Zelenskyy's office. The sanctions list also includes Ukrainian businessman Bohdan Pukish, identified as an associate and partner of the sanctioned opposition figure Viktor Medvedchuk. Additionally, Russian businessman Alan Kiryukhin is named, noted as a key manager of the A7A5 payment system, which is reportedly used to circumvent sanctions. Russian Olympic officials Stanislav Pozdnyakov and Mikhail Mamiashvili are also included, with the statement labeling them as 'propagandists.'

The imposed measures encompass a range of restrictions, including stripping state awards, blocking assets, halting trade operations, preventing capital transfers from Ukraine, suspending licenses and permits, and banning participation in the privatization or lease of state property. These sanctions are set to be in effect for a period of 10 years, with the revocation of state awards being indefinite.
