The gulf: The US Central Command has announced that the US Navy's guided-missile destroyers are currently operating in the Gulf following their transit through the Strait of Hormuz as part of 'Project Freedom.'

According to Anadolu Agency, CENTCOM made the announcement via a statement on the social media platform X. The statement highlighted that American forces are actively assisting in efforts to restore transit for commercial shipping in the region. This strategic move is part of a broader initiative to ensure the safe passage of vessels through this critical waterway.

CENTCOM further elaborated that, as an initial step, two U.S.-flagged merchant vessels have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz and are continuing their journey safely.
