Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared Israel's expansionist policies as the primary security threat to the region. Speaking at a joint news conference with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in Ankara, Erdogan stated, "Israeli aggression has once again shown that the main security problem for our region is the expansionist, lawless and norm-defying policies of the current government."

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized the shared commitment of Trkiye and Algeria to end the cycle of violence that jeopardizes regional peace and security. Tebboune echoed Erdogan's sentiments, condemning Israel's actions, "We condemn the Israeli occupation, its violations of international humanitarian law, its blatant attacks on Lebanon, and its barbaric practices in the Gaza Strip."

Earlier in the day, Erdogan extended a formal welcome to Tebboune at the Presidential Complex. The two leaders co-chaired the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting and subsequently participated in a signing ceremony for several bilateral agreements. Erdogan expressed Ankara's determination to bolster cooperation with Algeria in strategic areas such as energy, mining, transportation, and agriculture.

Erdogan further highlighted the ongoing efforts between the two nations to strengthen long-term cooperation on energy supply security, particularly focusing on natural gas. Tebboune added that Algeria and Trkiye aim to diversify their economic ties and safeguard their "shared historical heritage."
