Hamas Leader’s Son Dies from Injuries in Gaza Strike

Gaza city: The son of Hamas chief Khalil al-Hayya died Thursday from wounds sustained in an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip, as Israel confirmed an attack on a top Hezbollah commander in Beirut. This marks the latest violations of ceasefire deals in both regions.

According to Anadolu Agency, Azzam al-Hayya succumbed to his injuries after being critically wounded in the strike that targeted the Daraj neighborhood east of Gaza City on Wednesday evening. Mourners in Gaza City were seen carrying Azzam's body from Al-Shifa Hospital to his burial.

On Wednesday, Khalil al-Hayya stated that his son had been seriously wounded in the Israeli attack, accusing Israel of using pressure, killing, and terrorism to achieve its goals. Palestinian sources noted that Azzam was the fourth son of Khalil al-Hayya to have been killed by Israel.

In a separate development, the Israeli army confirmed on Thursday that it had killed Ahmed Balout, identified as the commander of Hezbollah's Radwan Force, in a strike in Beirut's southern suburbs on Wednesday. There has been no immediate comment from Hezbollah regarding the Israeli claim.
