3 Cruise Ship Passengers Airlifted to Trkiye Test Negative for Hantavirus: Health Ministry

Ankara: Trkiye’s Health Ministry announced that three citizens aboard an international cruise ship have tested negative for hantavirus after being airlifted to Trkiye by air ambulance. The ministry confirmed that these individuals are currently under close monitoring and isolation as a precautionary measure.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry released a statement detailing that the three citizens were transferred from the international travel ship and are now under strict observation. Similar to the case of two other individuals who had previously entered the country, samples were taken from the three citizens to test for hantavirus.

The ministry’s statement clarified that the test results for the three individuals returned negative. Nevertheless, they will continue to remain in quarantine for the duration recommended by health authorities. Health Ministry teams are actively evaluating their clinical condition and are closely monitoring their health status to ensure their well-being.

The statement further revealed that no clinical signs or symptoms of hantavirus have been observed in any of the five individuals currently under observation. The ministry is meticulously following the process to ensure all necessary precautions are taken, showcasing their commitment to public health safety.
